Well last night I put in an hour on the head cabinet, mounted the grille cloth and rear plate. The only thing left is to decide how to secure the amp when it’s mounted inside the cabinet. the guide pin works very well for keeping it in place, but I need to cover the guts, and at the same time, hold the chassis down.

The last time I tolex’d something I used the clear gel stuff. It stank, it was tough to work with, and it stayed sticky FOREVER.
Today I used the white stuff, and it’s the right stuff. Coming up tonight, cutting, gluing, and stapling the corners. I got re-acquainted with doing corners by doing the back brace.

My new amp, the Li’l Dawg D-Luxe needs a cabinet, so today we started (and nearly finished) building it! It turns a basic chassis into a tilt-panel style head. More pics tomorrow!

One of the most exciting parts of any guitar project is ordering parts. As of today we have two necks, a BG Bucker, a Tonerider TRT-1, a set of GFS Retrotrons, a Tele-style bridge, another Wraparound bridge, and some 300k pots. These two guitars are going to be very unique!
Look forward to progress pictures very soon!

Maryna and I went to the John Mayer show at the BankAtlantic Center last night. We both agreed that it was the best JM show we’ve been to yet. The previous show to hold that title was January 2007, at the BankUnited Center in Miami. That was also the first show of that tour. But this show went above and beyond. I had my point-and-shoot camera with me. Enjoy my pics from Section 3, Front Row.
